Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Bouclé iOS app processes information. The controller is Vincent Tietze (address in the legal notice). Privacy requests: veeventures@protonmail.com.
In short
- Bouclé has no user accounts. Your photos, 3D models, outfits and body measurements stay on your iPhone.
- Only when you explicitly create a 3D model or an AI try-on image is the photo concerned sent to our server and from there to AI service providers.
- No third-party ads, no sale of data, no tracking across apps or websites.
Information we process
Photos of your clothes
Cutting out a photo and showing it on the rail, on the shelves and in the fitting view happen on your device. Photos are not uploaded for this.
When you choose "In 3D", the cut-out photo of that one garment is sent to the Bouclé backend (Cloudflare), which forwards it to fal.ai for processing:
- For tops and trousers, an image model (Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, run via fal.ai) first creates a product view of the garment "as worn".
- A 3D model (Tencent Hunyuan 3D, run via fal.ai) then creates the 3D model.
The app downloads the finished 3D model and stores it only on your device. Please photograph clothing only — no people, faces, documents or third parties.
AI try-on
For an AI try-on image the app sends an image of a neutral mannequin rendered by the app (not a photo of you) and the photos of the selected garments via the backend to fal.ai (FASHN model). The app stores the resulting image on your device.
Body measurements
You enter your measurements or let the app estimate them from a full-body photo. The estimate runs entirely on your device (Apple Vision); the photo is not uploaded. Measurements stay on your device.
Customer ID, subscription and credits
The app creates a random, pseudonymous customer ID. It is used as the RevenueCat App User ID and as the key for your credit balance. Apple processes purchases; RevenueCat manages subscription and purchase status. Our backend asks RevenueCat whether a subscription is active and stores, per customer ID, the credit balance, billing periods already credited, purchase references and daily counters. We never receive payment card data.
Network and operational data
When the app connects to the backend, Cloudflare processes technical connection data (e.g. IP address, time). Our logs contain operational events but no photos, IP addresses or customer IDs.
Purposes and legal bases
- Performance of contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): creating 3D models and try-on images, checking the subscription, managing credits.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): camera and photo access granted in iOS, which you can revoke at any time.
Service providers
- Apple: app distribution, purchases and subscription management.
- RevenueCat, Inc. (USA): subscription and purchase management.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting of the backend and this website.
- Features & Labels, Inc. (fal.ai) (USA): runs the AI models — Google (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image), Tencent (Hunyuan 3D) and FASHN. We instruct fal.ai not to keep request and response payloads in its history where technically possible. Generated files stay temporarily on fal.ai's storage network for the app to download (usually a few days) and are deleted afterwards.
Providers act as processors or independent controllers under their own terms. Transfers to the USA rely on appropriate safeguards under Chapter V GDPR, in particular Standard Contractual Clauses and, where the recipient is certified, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Retention
Data on your device stays until you delete it (Settings → "Delete all pieces and data") or uninstall the app. Our backend does not keep photos; it only keeps references to running creations until they finish. Credit balances and purchase references are kept as long as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. For backend data, email veeventures@protonmail.com with the first characters of your customer ID (Settings → Customer ID).
Children
Bouclé is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We update this policy when the app, providers or the law change. The date above applies.
